Student assistant job on molecular switches
A student assistant job ("studentische or wissenschaftliche Hilfskraft") is available for interested B.Sc. or M.Sc.students. Tasks include the synthesis of selected molecular switches (e.g. selected multi-azobenzene compounds or azobenzene-polymer systems), the preparation and spectroscopic characterization of samples for ultrafast spectroscopy measurements and assistance in our ultrafast spectroscopy measurements.
The preparation and spectroscopic investigation by UV/Vis and NMR spectroscopies of functionalized, photo-switchable gold nanoparticles is another task, which could easily be developed into an interesting Bachelor Thesis project.
The successful candidate has successfully completed the B.Sc. courses PC-1 to PC-3 in Physical Chemistry and the B.Sc. lab courses in Organic Synthesis, and is interested and motivated to join our team for a few months in the summer break or for a full semester for a cutting edge undergraduate research project. The number of work hours (max. 40 h/month) and the detailed work schedule are negotiable, the salary reaches up 400 - 450 EUR / month.
Interested candidates should contact Prof. Temps by email or by phone (0431-880-7800).
